Analog Photos

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” – Dorothea Lange“

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keeffe

Analog photography has been with me for a few years now. When I met my friend K., she was taking an old camera (I think it was a Zenit) with her everywhere. I hadn’t thought about film photography since the late 90s, when my parents still used to have this Olympus point and shoot camera. I had never seen anyone in the 2010s using them. But there she was, shooting photos whenever possible, and they looked amazing. I was mesmerized. So I decided to try it: I got myself a purple Lomo camera for my first baby steps, and have added to my camera collection ever since. Some of them have seen every place I ever travelled to, and you can see the results here.

The fact that I got into Acrylic Painting is Jenna Marbles’ fault. I watched her do a painting with knifes, and then later with string, and then later she did an acrylic pour, and it looked fun. Two years later, I paint every free minute I have. Especially during the Covid lockdowns, it was a welcome indoor time killer.
